Apple will release its newest operating system, Lion, through the Mac App Store. Discs will be available if you don’t have broadband, but the shift to digital downloads is here to stay.     When I upgraded 2 home machines to Snow Leopard, I used the same single-desk DVD, with a tacit nod from the Genius at the store. Depending on the pricing and family distribution arrangement on the App Store, I may take my chances (and my time) and wait for the DVD.
