Facebook confirmed that it keeps logs of websites a user has visited during the previous 90 days. The company also tracks the website history of non-members if they previously visited a page on the social network. The same tracking technology is used to help advertisers deliver user relevant ads. In other news, the House Judiciary Committee debated the Stop Online Piracy Act, a bill that could give the government the ability to censor online content. Many argue that the measures to prevent online piracy of copyrighted materials are overreaching, and could destroy websites with user-generated content. And finally, Google officially launched Google Music, a free service that lets users store and stream up to 20,000 songs in the cloud. An online music store, similar to iTunes, will let users download free and paid songs to add to their collection.
