Rather than spending more of your time re-typing or re-doing what you just completed, there’s a few easy ways to figure out where that file wound up. If you’re on Windows 7, hit the Start key and you’re automatically placed in a search box. Type in the file name and it should pop it up. For older versions of Windows, open Windows Explorer and use the Search feature there. If you’re on a Mac, hold down the Apple Key and hit Spacebar. This brings up Spotlight, which is good for a whole ton of things. In addition to helping you find that missing file, Spotlight also enables you to open entire programs, in addition to serving as a calculator, dictionary and more. Type in whatever you’re looking to do and you’re on your way to productivity!
