Attention, Samsung smartphone and tablet owners: Your device is at risk of a malware attack. An exploit exists for some of the most popular Samsung models – including the Galaxy S3, both Galaxy Note phones and the Galaxy Note 10.1” tablet – that lets Android malware apps get all your physical memory, so that these apps can either steal your data or delete it altogether. Users on an Android developers thread have reached out to Samsung in hopes of providing a patch or update to protect their devices, but Samsung has yet to come out and make an official statement or provide support. While no attacks have yet been reported, your phone is at risk until the issue is resolved. What should you do? As always, make sure you don’t download any sketchy apps, or click on anything that seems too good to be true. In other words: Use your common sense and download things only from companies and vendors you trust.
