Google Cuts Pricing of Drive Cloud Service

Google Drive

Google DriveGoogle is cutting the monthly cost of extra storage for Google Drive on Thursday. Users always receive 15GB for free, but they can now jump up to 100GB for $1.99, down from the previous price of $4.99. Perhaps the most appealing option is the 1TB tier, which has fallen from $49.99 each month all the way down to $9.99. Any storage you buy for Google Drive also goes towards other Google services including Gmail and Google+ Photos. So for less than $10, you can reserve enough space to back up your entire mobile photo library and then some. Or, using Google’s own example, choosing the terabyte option would allow you “to take a selfie twice a day for the next 200 years and still have room left over.” If you somehow need more than that, tiers offering 10TB and up start at $99.
