Google Shopping Express

Google has delivered its same-day shopping service to Manhattan and west Los Angeles. Until Monday, the year-long service had only been available in the San Francisco Bay Area. “We’re working on refining the service as a consumer experience and business model,” says Tom Fallows, product management director of Google Shopping Express. He said Google plans to expand the service to Brooklyn and other parts of L.A. over the next few months. Google Shopping Express will offer the same shopping list in Manhattan and west Los Angeles as it does in the Bay Area: goods from Target, Walgreens, Staples and selected grocery stores. Google has not disclosed the volume of goods sold or revenue produced by its same-day shopping service. While the hashtag system is an easy one to use, it is a public broadcast of what you hope to buy, not to mention free advertising for Amazon, powered by you and your tweets.
