Have you ever wanted to send flowers to someone "just because"? Backed by investors like Ashton Kutcher and Joe Montana, BloomThat on Thursday announced it raised a $2 million seed funding round. BloomThat also announced the launch of its mobile app, available as a free download in Apple’s iTunes store, which lets you quickly and easily pick and send flowers from anywhere.
BloomThat offers handwritten notes and delivery by bicycle in less than 90 minutes, creating unique experiences and making it simple to deliver beautiful flowers that provide a fun experience -- without breaking the bank.
“The process for sending flowers is often too complicated, expensive and inconsistent, which leads to most people only sending flowers for specific occasions such as birthdays, anniversaries or if they screwed up and want to say they are sorry,” said BloomThat's co-founder Matthew Schwab in a press release. “Our goal is to create an experience that is so simple and enjoyable that people will stop asking, ‘Should I send flowers?’ and instead ask, ‘Who should I send flowers to today?’”
BloomThat's bouquets are predominantly fresh cut with a garden aesthetic, and are priced between $35 and $60 (including delivery). BloomThat is able to keep prices low by curating a few select bouquets, ordering in bulk, cutting out waste and streamlining the process.
BloomThat is currently available in San Francisco Palo Alto, Mountain View, Menlo Park and Sunnyvale and will be available in additional major metropolitan areas in the coming months. For more information visit: www.bloomthat.com.
