Twitter has already changed the way we talk to one another, turned the 140 character limit into a new form of poetry (though some may beg to differ), and played a key role in coordinating revolutions all over the world. But until now, its held back on taking that last step into full corporate maturity… until now, it’s held back on going public. That all changed with a remark that was, of course, short and too the point. Heck, their Thursday tweet even had characters to spare, “We’ve confidentially submitted an S-1 to the SEC for a planned IPO. This Tweet does not constitute an offer of any securities for sale.” So with memories of Facebook’s disastrous offering still looming large in the minds of many, can twitter pull this off smoothly?
