Picture this: The world runs out of spectrum. What's left doubles or triples in price and mainstreams out of the average affordability for constant twits and FB postings. Billions of people now have unaffordable rocks black boxes. Countries adopt some form of UN resolution cow-towing to the Chinese-Russian leader restrictions with a true fire and brimstone religion aura ? Will community centers become popular again for people having to meet f2f to exchange info ? Will email be the call of the mountaintop ? Multi-way land lines roaring ? Will another unblockable system be discovered ? Will it be that without a public profile and activity, one cannot be hired and with a public profile with dubious health or other issues prevent one from being hired ? What scares you ?

And I thought I was the only one that was hating the current facebook feed. I still don't know why it's all messed up now with some status updates. I don't look at facebook much these days now for this reason. Pinterest seems to be good but yes you have to makes sure you don't auto post to facebook and twitter. To much crap on your timeline and people will get bored with you. I think the next big thing will be lightbox. Very similar to instagram but this app is for android and the app seems to be more intelligent than instagram although I do love instagram.

Ms. O'Regan makes a good point insofar as the fact that often times, money and time can probably cure most of what digitally ails–plus, a digital apple a day keeps the Genius away. If it is something that breaks, and is beyond your control, I advise a cathartic trashing of the device/hardware. However, before this Vulcan Kolihnar, make sure it is broken before taking any 'further' action. Otherwise, you've compounded your problem by being the cause of your own digital destruction. So, when you read "PC Load Letter" on your office printer, breathe, and call someone in IT, lest you forget the immortal words of Eddie Car in The Lost World:Jurassic Park, "violence and technology....not good bedfellows."

Have you and Shelly had a conversation about his "Skynet" and how this works into the program ? The concept of 1984 is not so sci-fi and just a short time ago in the history of the world. The populace is already tranced into supplying their individual likes, fears and connections. What are the ideologies of those in control who have the power to control you ? Today ? In 20 years ? Which groups are planning and salivating over this power ? What part of the machine will you play ? Will you be allowed to live where you do or be placed in a more communal situation and be thankful you are not in the manual labor pool ? For the sake of brevity, you can ask your own questions.

I am very familiar with Adam Curtis and his work is extremely good. I believe the BBC wanted to present Mubarak's Egypt in a favorable light... which is teh point. I do not believe the BBC overlooked the propaganda, but was seeking it out.

A perceptive post, although a bit conspiratorial at the end. You should have mentioned the splendid BBC documentaries by Adam Curtis on these themes: The Century of the Self and the Power of Nightmares. As for FBC, I knew Alan Friedman and he didn't really disguise what he was doing if one looked at the FBC website. Rather, I blame the BBC for its appalling lack of due diligence in accepting and airing these programs. But the Beeb is a vast organization capable of showing both the good (Adam Curtis) and the bad (FBC) so you shouldn't be too harsh.

Where is the problem? I tried Fusion with W7 and Entourage 2008. No way...
The app crossover is still part of Lion, right? I've installed Outlook 2007 in Crossover and it works!
