DOW JONES’ controlling shareholder, the Bancroft family, has rejected the NEWS CORP. offer of $5 Billion for the company. The price included a 65% premium.

ITV, the UK’s largest terrestrial broadcaster, will begin streaming all of its channels via the internet. Content and commercials will be identical for online and offline broadcasts. ITV’s site will also offer archived episodes, with updated advertising.

JOOST has added CNN, Turner, Sony, and the NHL to its growing line-up of programming. The new content will go live on Thursday.

PROM QUEEN, a daily online show started by Michael Eisner’s VUGURU, is averaging around 200,000 views every day.

DIGG, the popular social-networking news site, removed stories containing the HD-DVD decryption code. Users then posted the code in various incarnations, until the whole front page of DIGG contained the code. The site was temporarily taken offline to restore order.
