ELECTRONIC ARTS (NASD: ERTS) will not extend its bid to acquire TAKE-TWO INTERACTIVE (NASD: TTWO) for the sixth time. After learning EA would back off, Take-Two offered to open up its books to EA. While EA not extending its bid might signal a lack of current interest in Take-Two, most analysts believe that the two need each other and that prior animosity will be put aside in order to get the deal done.

THE PRINCETON REVIEW (NASD: REVU) accidentally shared thousands of students personal data on its website for seven weeks. A flaw in the sites code made it possible for anyone to gain access to thousands of files on the companies website. Specifically, files from 34,000 students in Sarasota, Florida and 74,000 students from Fairfax County, Virginia were on public display, including information on sex, learning disabilities, birthdays, ethnicities, and assessment test scores.

APPLE’s (NASD: AAPL) MobileMe service is so finicky the company is giving an additional 2 months of free service to its clients. MobileMe has only been around for a month and users were already given an extra free months service after MobileMe lost some users email. The MobileMe fiasco is another kick in the butt for Apple, who overextended themselves by releasing the 3G iPhone, the iPhone 2.0 software, the Application Store and MobileMe on the same day
