The US Justice Department and FCC approved Comcast’s purchase of NBC Universal, with GE dropping their ownership to 49%. The FCC was cautionary, stating that such a deal could threaten “the development of innovative online video distribution services.” Comcast will lose its management rights of Hulu and neither company can restrict “unreasonable” online distribution of its video.
