Recon Instruments

Recon InstrumentsRecon Instruments made the world’s first heads-up display for alpine goggles called the MOD Live Heads-Up Display. Yes, you heard that right: a HUD display INSIDE your pair goggles. I use them, they are absolutely awesome! Recon says, “Your day on the mountain is about to change forever,” and it’s easy to see why. Once your MOD Live has been loaded into any Recon Ready goggle, all the information you could need to make an incredible ski day even better is provided to you, and it is done without being obtrusive or distracting. Recon knows how important your vision is when you’re racing down a hill, which is why the display enriches but never disrupts your alpine experience. You never need to refocus when viewing your Heads-Up Display, due to its innovative prism technology, which is presented as though you’re looking at a fourteen-inch screen from five feet away. What kind of cool stuff does the MOD Live provide? By combining GPS with barometric pressure data, it can accurately tell you how fast you carve down the slopes. It can also track and let you know your distance, height and airtime on jumps, as well as how high you are up on the mountain. It can also track how far you’ve traveled, both on an individual run, a full day or even a full season of skiing. It also offers a navigation system, so you can get to know your favorite runs by name, as well as buddy tracking, to help you see where your friends are in case you get separated. It will also pair with your smartphone, so you can view incoming calls and read texts immediately, and it even gives you control of your music in its playlist mode. Need to always be connected? You still can be… even when on the slopes. Now no one has an excuse to not get out there and try these things out!
