Sling Media recently announced support for Chromecast through the Slingplayer apps on iPhone, iPad and Android phone, with plans to bring support to Android tablets “very soon.” Each of these apps now has an integrated ‘Cast’ icon, which also shows Roku devices on your home network, letting you sling your living room TV to another TV in the house or a remote location. The Slingplayer app then acts as a remote control, and full hand-off is integrated into the app. That means you can leave the app to do other things on your mobile device without interrupting what’s playing on the Chromecast, Roku or Apple TV-equipped TV.
Sling has also integrated a SlingTV remote into the app for controlling the SlingTV interface on your living room TV, instead of the included remote control we ship with the unit.
