Bringing back the woolly mammoth

Jurassic Park lovers have been told that the idea of bringing dinosaurs back from extinction is science fiction. Serial entrepreneur Ben Lamm is undeterred. With $15 million in funding and famed geneticist George Church on board, Colossal begins its quest to bring back the woolly mammoth.

This would be quackery if not for the very serious cast of characters that has been assembled to tackle this task. George Church may be a controversial figure in genetic research, but few question his intellect or his accomplishments. The implications of success are dwarfed by my questions about the fundamental principles underlying the founding of Colossal.
