Snap to Partner with Parents

Like all social media platforms, Snap has had its share of mishaps with privacy and security. However, during an interview at WSJ Tech Live, Snap CEO Evan Spiegel said, “We haven’t announced the name of this product yet, but we basically have a family center so that young people and their parents can use Snapchat together.”

This is exactly the right approach. When talking about social media issues with parents over the past few years, most have desperately wanted a way to metaphorically “hold their kid’s hands while teaching them to cross the street.” I’m looking forward to seeing how Snap executes on this idea, as it sounds like an awesome step in the right direction.
