Instagram announced a subscription feature to help creators earn recurring monthly revenue, which is great news for creators who have started to earn on other platforms like TikTok, YouTube, and OnlyFans. The feature is rolling out with 10 creators in the test phase including basketball player Sedona Prince, model Kelsey Cook, actor-influencer Alan Chikin Chow, Olympic gymnast Jordan Chiles and digital creator Lonnie IIV.
It will be interesting to see how this works on Instagram. Its users are not accustomed to paying for content. That said, this is a way for popular creators to fish where the fish are. Watch this closely. Scale and convenience are a powerful combination.
