If you have a smartphone and love taking pictures with it, you’ve probably tinkered around with Instagram. For those who don’t know, Instagram is a free photo-sharing app that lets you take a photo, apply different filters to it and then share it with your friends and family. Beyond adding filters, did you know Instagram also lets you highlight a particular element of your photo? It’s called tilt-shift, and can be applied in two ways: on either a circular or linear portion of the photo. After choosing which photo you’re going to share, you’re given the choice of which filter to choose. At the top of that same screen, tap the teardrop icon, which gives you the option to add the tilt-shift effect. After choosing whether you want a circular or linear tilt-shift, you’re then able to place, rotate and re-size the effect wherever and however you want it. Set up your tilt-shift and direct your viewers’ eyes exactly where you want them to go!
