Yeah Yeah YeahsThe war on smartphones at concerts and other live events seems unending. In the latest salvo, the art-punk trio called the Yeah Yeah Yeahs tried to keep smartphone-using fans at bay at a recent New York City Webster Hall concert, according to a report first carried by Spin and later the L.A. Times. “Please do not watch the show through a screen on your smart device/camera,” read the sign at the concert. “Put that…away as a courtesy to the person behind you and to [band members] Nick, Karen and Brian. Much love and many thanks! — Yeah Yeah Yeahs.” According to Spin, performer Karen O made the request during the concert at the top of the second song, and allowed the crowd to take photos for a few more minutes. Then she asked fans to put their devices away and gestured holstering a phone.
