Enthusiasts have already been modifying the Kinect for all sorts of creative uses and Microsoft hopes the dev kit will make it easier. Microsoft showed of the future of Windows Phone 7 at the Mobile Web Congress, boasting interactivity with Xbox and Kinect. While the demonstration didn’t promise specific connectivity, Microsoft is aiming to create a connected device ecosystem. Microsoft’s second quarter earnings are in and they had a more profitable quarter than Apple. With $6.63 billion in profit, Microsoft surpassed Apple’s record profit of $6 billion.
