While advances in technology help to create new jobs, workers may be losing the race against the machine. A new book by MIT researchers suggests that our economy has an inability to replace jobs faster than automation takes them away.     Great article to ponder as our population hits 7 billion.  Yesterday, my wife, who is a middle school math teacher, told me about a new “smart-board” based program that one NJ public school is using for teaching math.  The teachers that are using the program are told that they cannot talk or “interrupt” the program when it is being shown to the class.  I immediately wondered where this would lead, in terms of replacing human teachers.  I could see our Governor, Chris Christie, would be delighted by the thought of robot teachers…until they unionize!
