BlackBerry users around the world have been left with sporadic Internet service due to equipment failures. The outage recently spread to the United States, limiting email, BlackBerry Messenger and web browsing abilities.     So when is the “media-at-large” going to do more than surface reporting. Yes the outage is a real PITA. But most of us have more than one way of communicating with the world and anyone who works in electronics knows that outage can – and will – occur. A coincident story about a hacker getting celebrity pictures through hacking email indicated the hacker got into Apple, Yahoo and GMail accounts – not Blackberry it seems!
    Maybe there are some differences. The media should likely compare apples to apples (pun intended) and not try to compare what is essentially consumer products with enterprise level technology. – I do not own Rim shares or have any interest in the company – I have had a Blackberry for many years and will keep it.
