Know your body. Change your life. That’s the motto for BodyMedia, a company that vows to unlock and decipher the body’s secrets. It wants to empower you to help you improve your life. BodyMedia says it is driven by the belief that its work helps you change your life for the better. It wants to advance healthcare by putting actionable information in your hands.

What, exactly, does THAT mean? BodyMedia’s big thing is wearable body monitors, which give users information to help make “sweeping changes” affecting health and wellness, such as weight management and lifestyle choices.

The big product is the BodyMedia FIT, which, the company says, gives users the most accurate information about their weight loss on the market, and can actually help users improve weight loss up to 3X! The FIT is more than just an armband monitor, though; it also includes an online Activity Manager, an optional display and even mobile apps. It tracks your activities throughout the day, and when coupled with the data you enter manually in the easy-to-use food log, you’re on the right track to improve your weight loss.

The BodyMedia FIT doesn’t just track your steps. No, BodyMedia says that’s not accurate enough. Instead, it captures over 5,000 data points per minute – including stuff like heat, sweat, and calories burned. But there’s more to BodyMedia’s method than just collecting data.  Plug the FIT into your computer, and see just where you stand on your path to self-improvement. Not immediate enough for you? Check out one of the Bluetooth armbands, which offer instant wireless connectivity. Sweet!
