Black Friday has come and gone, but you have another chance to save. Today is Cyber Monday, which began years ago as a way to encourage online shopping before it really took off. Many sites have been running online sales since at least Thursday, with some like Amazon even offering sales since last Monday. Cyber Monday marks the end of this incredible week of sales, so here are a few tips to stay safe while you shop. Like any other day, make sure your anti-virus software is up-to-date, and don’t click on any links or offers that are too good to be true – those are likely causes for malware. Shop sites that you trust and have ordered from before, and make sure you pay with a credit card. That way, you’re safer and federal law protects you. Finally, look for https:// in the address bar and the “lock” in the lower-right corner of the screen. These ensure you’re on a safe and secure URL.
