Verizon plans to redefine the traditional television set-top box in 2012 for FiOS customers. The project looks to lower the energy consumption of traditional set-top boxes by offering a media server that can stream HDTV to all of the devices in your home, including mobile devices and game consoles. In other news, Experian Hitwise released the most searched terms of 2011 and Facebook dominated the list. The social network accounted for over 3% of all web searches, with four of the top ten search terms being variations of facebook.com. Facebook also accounted for over 10% of all website visits. And finally, Steve Jobs will receive a posthumous Grammy Award for his technological innovations in the music space. The Academy is honoring him with the award for introducing iTunes and the iPod, stating that they transformed the way people consume music and media.
