Bloomberg reports that Microsoft is paying Nokia $1 billion to develop Windows Phone handsets. Nokia will pay Microsoft royalties for each phone using Windows and allows both companies to lower costs. Will the boost to Windows’ platform be worth $1 billion in the long run? We’ll see.
