At long last, Microsoft’s CEO, Steve Ballmer announced a Microsoft branded, Windows 8 tablet called the Microsoft Surface.  It’s a 10.6 inch, tablet with a removable battery and it weighs only 1 ½ pounds.  The Microsoft Surface is obviously designed as direct competition for the Apple’s iPad.  Will the new Microsoft Surface be an iPad killer?  Here’s the thing.  Windows 8 is a really nice operating system.  It uses unique graphics that present your content in easily movable tiles and it seamlessly integrates with other Microsoft products like Office, Skydrive and Xbox.  If you’re a Windows user, the new Microsoft Surface may be that table you’ve been waiting for.  One cool feature of the new Microsoft Surface is its smart cover.  It looks like an iPad smart cover, but the Microsoft Surface smart cover has a full sized touch sensitive keyboard built in.  Look out Apple, here comes the Microsoft.
